Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used and shared when you visit www.andaseat.co.uk, create an account, place an order, contact us, request a return or warranty service, subscribe to email marketing or otherwise interact with AndaSeat UK.

In this policy, personal information means information relating to an identified or identifiable person.

Who is responsible for your personal information?

Different companies are responsible for different parts of the AndaSeat UK service:

  • Compare Technology Limited (company number 06639333), whose registered office is Suite 109 Smartbase, Target Road, Aviation Business Park, Christchurch, England, BH23 6NW, is the UK seller and operator. It is a controller for UK retail activities where it decides why and how personal information is used, including orders, payments and refunds, VAT invoices, fulfilment, customer support, returns, fraud reviews, warranty administration, record-keeping and UK marketing decisions.
  • ANDASEAT TECHNOLOGY INC, 100 North Howard Street, Spokane, Washington 99201, United States, owns the AndaSeat brand and website. It is a separate controller where it decides why and how personal information is used for central website, brand, customer service, warranty or marketing activities. It can access relevant Shopify customer and order records, warranty information and marketing data. You can read its global privacy notice.

Where Compare Technology Limited handles a central activity solely on documented instructions from ANDASEAT TECHNOLOGY INC, Compare Technology Limited acts as a processor for that activity. Each company remains responsible for the processing it controls.

Compare Technology Limited is the UK contact point for this policy and for privacy requests relating to AndaSeat UK. Email andaseat@comparetechnology.co.uk. We will coordinate with ANDASEAT TECHNOLOGY INC where your request concerns its processing.

We do not intend to collect special-category information, such as health, biometric, racial or religious information, through the normal operation of the website. Please do not send such information unless it is genuinely necessary for us to deal with your request.

Where we obtain personal information

We obtain personal information:

  • directly from you when you order, create an account, contact us, make a claim, submit content or subscribe;
  • automatically from your device and website activity, including through cookies and similar technologies where consent is required;

  • from warehouses, fulfilment providers and couriers in connection with delivery, returns or claims; and
  • from advertising, analytics and social-media platforms when you have allowed the relevant cookies or interact with our content on those platforms.

How and why we use personal information

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of personal information. The bases we rely on are set out below.

Send permitted abandoned-basket reminders To remind you about products left in your basket Your consent, or the customer soft opt-in only where every legal condition is met
Run non-essential analytics, measure advertising, personalise advertising, retarget visitors and create advertising audiences To understand website use and improve and measure advertising Your cookie consent

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests include providing effective customer service, administering and improving the UK operation, protecting the website and business, obtaining genuine customer feedback and managing legal claims. We consider the necessity and impact of the use and do not rely on this basis where your rights and interests override ours.

Information needed to provide the service

Information marked as required during checkout, account registration, delivery, a return or a warranty claim is needed to enter into or perform our contract with you or to meet legal requirements. If you do not provide it, we may be unable to accept or fulfil an order, deliver the product, issue a refund or handle your request. Marketing choices and non-essential cookies are optional.

Email marketing

When you choose to subscribe to AndaSeat UK email marketing, Klaviyo operates a double opt-in process: you must confirm your subscription before marketing emails are activated. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every marketing email or by contacting andaseat@comparetechnology.co.uk.

We may use the customer soft opt-in only to email existing customers about our own similar products and only where all legal conditions are met, including giving a clear opt-out when the email address is collected and in every marketing message.

AndaSeat UK does not currently send SMS marketing. Unsubscribing from marketing will not stop essential service messages about your account, order, delivery, return, refund or warranty claim.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember choices, protect checkout, understand website use and measure or personalise advertising.

  • Strictly necessary technologies are used where needed to provide the website, basket, checkout, account, security and consent-management functions. They do not require consent where the law provides an exemption.
  • Analytics and advertising technologies are kept off until you consent. These may be provided by Google, Meta, TikTok and Pinterest and may be used for analytics, conversion measurement, attribution, personalised advertising, retargeting and advertising audiences.

You can accept or reject non-essential technologies through the cookie banner. You can later change or withdraw your choice using the Cookie Settings link in the website footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.

See our Cookie Policy for the current technologies, providers, purposes and durations. You can also control cookies through your browser, although blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website from working properly.

Fraud prevention and order review

We and our ecommerce, payment and fraud-prevention providers, including Shopify, use automated analysis to assess order risk. The analysis may consider information such as the order and transaction details, billing and delivery consistency, account history, device and network information and risk indicators supplied by payment or fraud-prevention services.

Orders identified as potentially high risk may be held for review before dispatch. Where appropriate and possible, authorised staff review the information and may contact you to verify the order, payment or delivery details. If we cannot complete the verification or are not satisfied that the order can be fulfilled safely, we may cancel the order and issue a full refund to the original payment method.

If you believe an order has been cancelled solely by an automated process, you can contact us to request human review, explain your position and challenge the decision.

Who receives personal information?

We disclose only the information reasonably needed for the relevant purpose. Recipients may include:

  • ANDASEAT TECHNOLOGY INC, for the website, brand, central support, warranty and marketing activities described above;
  • Shopify, which hosts the ecommerce platform and supports checkout, accounts, order management, payments and fraud analysis;
  • payment and finance providers, banks and card networks, including Klarna and Affirm where you choose or use their services;
  • UK warehouses, fulfilment providers and couriers, including DPD, Royal Mail and DHL, for delivery, tracking, returns and delivery claims;
  • Zendesk and other support or communications providers used to manage enquiries and claims;
  • Klaviyo, for email subscriptions, segmentation, permitted abandoned-basket messages and campaign measurement;
  • analytics and advertising providers, including Google, Meta, TikTok and Pinterest, when you consent to their technologies;
  • IT, security, fraud-prevention, cloud and professional service providers, such as accountants, auditors, lawyers and insurers;
  • courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies and public authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law; and
  • prospective buyers, investors or advisers in connection with a sale, investment, merger or restructuring, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.

Some recipients process information on our instructions, while others, such as certain payment, finance, platform and courier providers, may act as separate controllers under their own privacy notices.

International transfers

Personal information may be accessed, stored or processed outside the United Kingdom. This includes access by ANDASEAT TECHNOLOGY INC in the United States and processing by global ecommerce, cloud, support, marketing, analytics, advertising and payment providers.

Where a restricted transfer is made, the controller responsible for it will use a mechanism permitted by UK data protection law. Depending on the destination and recipient, this may include UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses or another lawful safeguard. Any required assessment and additional protections will also be applied.

You can ask for more information about the safeguards relevant to your personal information by emailing andaseat@comparetechnology.co.uk. We may provide a summary or a redacted copy where necessary to protect confidential or security-sensitive information.

How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, tax, accounting, warranty, fraud-prevention, dispute and record-keeping requirements. Our usual approach is:

  • Orders, invoices, payment confirmations, refunds and tax records: normally six years from the end of the relevant accounting period, or longer where required for an investigation, dispute or legal claim.
  • Customer accounts: while the account remains active and afterwards for a reasonable period based on activity, security and support needs. Legally required transaction records may be retained separately.
  • Support, returns, complaints and warranty records: for as long as needed to resolve the matter, administer the applicable warranty and deal with any related complaint, dispute or legal claim.
  • Marketing records: while you remain subscribed or while a valid customer soft opt-in applies. If you unsubscribe or object, we retain the minimum suppression record needed to ensure we do not send further marketing.
  • Abandoned-basket information: for the limited period needed to send any legally permitted reminder, manage the basket and maintain relevant suppression records.
  • Fraud and security records: for as long as reasonably needed to verify transactions, prevent repeat fraud, protect systems and manage disputes or legal obligations.
  • Cookie, analytics and advertising information: for the durations disclosed in the Cookie Policy and relevant provider settings.
  • Reviews and permitted marketing content: for as long as the review remains relevant or the agreed permission or licence allows, subject to legal rights and existing lawful uses.

When deciding a period, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the information, the risk of harm, the purpose, the applicable warranty or customer relationship, legal limitation periods and statutory obligations. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised unless the law permits or requires further retention.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful loss, alteration, disclosure or access. Access is limited to authorised personnel and service providers who need it for their work. No online system or transmission is completely secure, so please use secure channels and do not send payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information by email.

Children

The website is a general retail website and is not intended to enter into contracts with anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to make any purchase and do not create an account or submit personal information without their involvement. We take age into account when applying privacy protections. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you the right to:

  • ask for access to your personal information and information about how it is used;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to erase personal information;
  • ask us to restrict its use;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive certain information in a portable format or ask for it to be sent to another provider;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent; and
  • make representations about, challenge and request human intervention in a qualifying solely automated decision.

Your right to object to direct marketing: You can object at any time to our use of your personal information for direct marketing, including related profiling. If you object, we will stop using it for that purpose. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or contact us.

These rights are not absolute and may not apply in every case. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity and protect your data. We do not normally charge a fee. We will respond within the period required by law, normally within one month once we have the information needed to process the request.

To exercise a right, email andaseat@comparetechnology.co.uk and explain what you would like us to do.

Data protection complaints

If you are concerned about how your personal information has been handled, email andaseat@comparetechnology.co.uk with the subject line Data protection complaint. Please explain what happened and the outcome you are seeking.

We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days, make appropriate enquiries and keep you informed without undue delay, and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

If you remain dissatisfied, you have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address the issue first, but this does not affect your right to contact the ICO.

The website may link to websites, apps or services operated by other organisations. Those organisations are responsible for their own processing, and you should read their privacy information before providing personal information to them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, providers, practices or legal obligations. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice of a material change.
